Family Meal Plan on a Budget: 31 Dinners for Under \$650

      I keep my grocery budget in check by only buying extremely great deals and meal planning monthly so I thought I would post what we are eating in May. I budget $650 a monthly for all groceries, household and personal care for 2 adults, 2 teens and a little kid.

      We are a very active family who try to eat semi healthy. We came in at $598 for all groceries, household, personal etc for April.

      Most meals everyone picks a fruit and veggie for sides based on personal preference and what’s prepped in our fridge.

      May’s meal plan
      1. Loaded nachos
      2. Roast beef sandwiches/chips
      3. Bbq chicken pizza/salad
      4. Roast chicken/roasted sweet potatoes/broccli
      5. Spagetti/breadsticks/salad
      6. Grilled stuffed chicken burrito (taco mayo) creamy jalapeño sauce
      7. Wonton miso soup
      8. Creamy chicken Artichoke rice
      9. Cheeseburgers/fries
      10. Philly cheesesteak garlic bread/salad
      11. Kabobs/flatbread/tziki/cuc and salad
      12. Pesto pasta/calamari
      13. Wp tacos/Spanish rice/beans
      14. Eggroll bowls
      15. Leftovers
      16. Roasted red pepper Soup and grilled cheese
      17. Pancakes/sausage/fruit
      18. Lasanga
      19. Leftover Lasanga
      20. Pork or beef/Mexican stuffed peppers
      21. Kids make dinner
      22. Crab sushi bake
      23. Bday dinner
      24. Pork chops/garlic noodles/peas
      25. BLT
      26. Pasta salad
      27. Green Chicken enchiladas casserole
      28. Smoked sausage/potatoes/greens
      29. Chicken and rice
      30. Sausage pepper sandwiches/VOC
      31. Smothered steak/mashed potatoes/green beans

      Breakfast
      Sausage egg cheese biscuits
      Bacon egg and cheese biscuits
      Breakfast burritos
      Granola with fruit and yogurt
      Various oatmeal flavors
      Protein pancakes(regular and chocolate chip)

      Lunches
      Leftovers
      Sandwiches
      FFYS

        It would be helpful if you also included where you are, because there is no way I can get my grocery budget down to 650.

        It’s a nice goal to have but I’m in a high cost of living area.

            How do you plan the ingredients for each meal and do you have a system? I’m thinking I’d need a spreadsheet for all these different ingredients, how much, with what meal….and then the menus for each.

              Impressive! I meal plan weekly based off the kid’s sports schedule. Those are crockpot meal days when games or practices are happening.

              I’m not quite to monthly yet, but goals

                  Kudos to you! Just how? Family of 5 (youngest barely eats) and we spent $1,200.

                    Is there a grocery list for all of this stuff, plus personal and household items?

                    And where do you live that food is cheap enough to feed 5 people for a month?
