We are spending just over $300 a week and it seems SO much higher than it needs to be but is also relatively streamlined, limited snacks/junk, no soda, no alcohol etc.

How much do you spend on groceries monthly for a family of 4?

We are at $950/month for a family of 4 plus $400/year for eating out.

My wife and I live in Greensboro, NC and spend $100/week at (mostly) Aldi.

If you have Aldi available in your area, it is an absolute must if you are trying to save money while also getting good quality.

You sacrifice a few conveniences and availability but once you are used to the experience it is no problem at all.

It all depends on where you are shopping. We shop at Costco and fill in as needed from Walmart and lastly Ralphs or Albertsons both of whom have some of the worst prices.

We also live in CA. Los Angeles to be exact. We are a family of 5, and eating out/groceries usually amount to appx $3,000/month.

Going out to eat once a week adds about $200 additional per month.
