For those that get pedicures, how often do you go and how much do you normally spend? I’m on my feet all day and self care is low on the priority list.
I really would like to do something small for myself once in a while without a huge expense.
thank you all so much and ideas!
JulieI go maybe 3 or 4 times a year. Pedicures are about $55 with tip I think. My places are pretty expensive. I get my fingers done every 3 weeks and it’s about $50.
I do acrylics and gel.
My nails are so soft and brittle ever since chemo and radiation.
I’m thinking about stopping fingers and just living with short nails.
I don’t get them crazy long at all but it’s a big expense.
KayFoot massage is sometimes more enjoyable and beneficial than a pedicure.
MarilynWow. Around here pedicures are 50$ and up. I do mine at home.
RhondaBe frugal. Buy your own foot bath. Add vinegar and Listerine to the warm water.
Sit and soak while watching tv or reading.
ShonI haven’t been to have my feet done since before Covid. From the looks of it sounds like I’ve saved thousands of dollars.
SherryFind a good beauty school near you. Students need clients to practice on.
I have never had a bad experience. Teachers watch over everything
LucindaI haven’t seen this comment – so I’m going to add this – I got toenail fungus from a pedicure during a “fun and exciting girls’ weekend”.
It was a literal pain to get rid of that fungus stuff.
Never ever going back for another pedicure. Just not worth it.
NancyI go about 6 weeks or more. With tip it’s 38.50. I can’t do myself, I have tried, but I am 82 and just can’t bend over enough
HortenciaI’m in Southern California and I spend about $40 with tip but I go about every 2 months and once a month during the summer.
I don’t spend a lot on clothes, bags etc. I don’t get manicures.
This is my splurge on just me.
The place I go to is no frills and the couple that run the shop are very nice and only they do the nails, no employees.
I tip about 25 percent because they are so inexpensive.
And I’ll occasionally bring the kids a present.
KimI indulge in very few self care things but I get a pedi every 4 weeks.
As much as I lotion my feet I have issues with my heels and callouses on my big toes so I let the pros deal with it.
LOL I pick whatever pedi, usually between $50 and $60 before tip.
BeckyListen. It’s not cheap. I used to go
Religiously every 2 weeks. I stopped for a long time because of finances and only recently have I budgeted for it again. It’s an absolute must as we age.
So many issues arise from poor foot health, not to mention pain from cracked heels and whatever else.
This is one I’ve vowed to continue. You don’t need to get the most expensive pedi on he menu, but it really is important.
KerstinIn Wa is the average basic Gel pedicure $ 55
Where do the people live who get it done for 30???KuckLast time I went (before Covid), I picked up a fungal infection on the toenail. It was a hassle dealing with that for a year.
Haven’t been back since.
I just do it myself. Save $70/month. ($60 plus $10 tip, that’s what it cost 5 years ago)
I bought the foot file and callus remover gel from Amazon and the OPI polish from TJ Maxx.
TracyI usually go at the beginning of June and it lasts most of the summer. That’s it.
I always have boots on my feet.
BarbaraI usually get pedicures once a month in the summer and maybe one around the Christmas holidays.
I pay around $30 with tip.
DonnaI go to an expensive place that charges $60 for a pedicure, it used to be $50. I’m never in a separate room with no other women, which I love.
I find that is much cleaner than these larger places that have 15 or more people getting manicure or pedicures, which is very noisy.
In the summer once a month, every other month in the winter.
I ask for gift cards from my family for birthdays, holidays, etc.
NoraI get a regular pedicure at the beginning of flip flops season (about $50) and then get just polish changes ($20; they just trim and shape) every 6-8 weeks or so
MargaretI get mine at the salon at our super Walmart and it’s only $30 plus a $5 tip and it lasts 2 months!
I only get them come spring until late fall then I mostly wear closed toed shoes!
MarthaI get a gel pedi every 2 months, roughly. I pay $50-$60 including tip. If you get a lighter color it isn’t as noticeable when they grow out.
I like gel because you can just put your shoes and socks on and don’t have to wait for it to dry.
But there are some associated health risks, so ymmv.
