Genuine question: if working part time isn’t something you’re ready for, would it be an option to stay in your current job and stop working OT? (That seems like a lot of OT!)

If all jobs paid the same, what work would you choose?

What’s your motivation to keep working past your FIRE number? If it’s to have more money then just do whatever gives you the most amount of money for however much time you’re willing to commit.

If it’s something else, then identify what that is and pursue that.

First of all, congratulations, reaching fire at 33 is extremely rare, even amongst us.

But it seems to me you haven’t done your ABC-s.

What is your why to FIRE? I have several why-s.

Think about those and if your why-s are not strong enough, just keep working, FIRE isn’t for you yet.

Yeah. Personally I welded for about 20 years and loved it, it was rewarding hard work. However now I work at Walmart and it’s much more relaxed.

My point a job is just money.

              In my opinion.

You might be surprised with your current employer and it never hurts to ask. The worst they can say is no.

Perhaps code consulting would be something you could transition into? Or code review/enforcement for a municipality or private consulting firm?
