I really do need a bite guard at night – I’ve chewed through others, and without one I’ll end up with more dental expenses.

I tried ordering ones from Amazon, but they won’t work for me.

The cheapest dentist charges $75. Has anyone had any luck with OTC, or lower rate somehow?

      Thanks!

If you know it will be a continuing expense you could add money every year to an HSA so you can save pretax dollars since it’s a medical expense.

I am dental hygienist..if you can’t afford a nightguard from a dentist google encore night guards.

You take your impression at home and they make a custom fit.

I suggest an upper night guard hard 2mm.

I had one made by my dentist. It’s hard. It was about $300, but I’ve had well over $20, 000 of work done to my mouth bc of my grinding.

            It’s called a night splint.

I paid over a 100 for one from the dentist. The cheap ones do not work. They are garbage.

If you don’t wear a night guard you will probably need more expensive dental work done.

I have a habit of spitting them out in the middle of the night and now I need root canals for two molars

Amazon football mouth quard and heat it and put it in your mouth to mold it. About $10.

                  Have used them for years.

My medicare paid for mine. The dentist had to write a note explaining why it was needed.

Check with your insurance or Medicare.

$75 for custom guard is great deal. Get custom one and remind yourself it’s cheaper in long run.

Fillings/crowns/Root canals cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

I’ve been using Cloud. $25 for 2 on amazon. It silicone and microwaveable, and you can reheat until you get the bite right.

I crack the custom acrylic ones.

Get yourself a cheap mouth guard in the sports section of Walmart. Boil it to soften it up, and then carefully pull it out with a pair of tongs and carefully stick it in your mouth, bite down to form it around your teeth.

They have directions to do this on some of them.

My husband got me one. While back because I tend to clench my teeth at night. Helps to not bite my tongue or cheeks.

Mine cost like $20 at Walmart. The kind you micro or boil and then put in your mouth so it forms around your teeth. If I get another one, I wouldn’t bite down quite as hard.

But I thought it was pretty good.

Husband used them for many years. He always ground through them. Finally went and started buying football mouthguards and they seem to last a lot longer.

I have $750 one from dentist but it’s too hard. I like soft one from Walgreens! $22! Bad plastic free! It last about 1 year.

I can get soft one made for $350 at dentist.

                                Not worth it.

I would spend the money on one made by a dentist. Over the counter night guards can make dental issues worse, which would cause you more money.

My insurance paid for most of cost and it was 100 bucks my cost. I have recently been looking at the snore mouthpieces for 30 on up.

                                    They seem more durable.

                                    But I haven’t bought yet.
