Has anyone here had experience selling formal dresses / formal wear? I’ve got about four or five formal dresses and a skirt suit I can’t wear anymore that are still in great condition.
I figure I would try Facebook marketplace and do it locally? Or would I have more luck on Poshmark?
I figure with the local option clients would want to try them on and I don’t know how that would work
MeganI’d try on poshmark, but I find formal wear doesn’t sell super well (unless it’s current style for high school dances).
Renting formal wear is far more common now, so most people do that rather than buy.
We’ve had people meet at Starbucks to try on clothing before purchasing.
TammiIn my area, all the local proms and that type thing are just now over with for this season.
I’d try FB or donate if you can to a drive for young girls for next year.
AnisaI’ve made a small amount buying clothes and other household items from goodwill, other thrift or what I had, on Macari, Facebook, and eBay. Facebook is the easiest with the least fees and hassle.
Macari and eBay have similar fees, which make lower marked items hard to make a profit.
With bigger $ items like those, I’d look up retail price, then search on Facebook or eBay similar items.
Then post with a used price similar to the other used item and you can always lower it if it doesn’t sell within a timeframe you want, or take the post down all together
GenMaybe check out consignment shops
