Looking for recipes for dairy free, soy free, gluten free and egg free eating on a budget. Also no direct corn (but cornstarch okay).
It’s been really tough on our budget eating our normal items, but sheet pan has been good (and relatively cheap).
What other things are there? Specifically breakfast too!!
Gloriachili w/ black beans (ground meat optional), veg stir fry, homemade veggie soup,
Nolatimes like this, it can help to make a list of every ingredient you CAN reliably eat.
looks like most fruits veggies and meats are still gonna be ok.
in my gf house we eat plenty of rice and potatoes too.
YocackSmoothies with peanut butter
Oatmeal
stir fry with rice
Burger saladsHummus and veggies
Breakfast hashUse zucchini noodles
Lentil soupBurrito bowls
Cauliflower nachosKeriRice bowls, like diy chipotle bowls. So, cook up some meat of choice, hamburger like taco meat, grilled chicken, we even like Italian.
Then quick pan fry some frozen corn with dill or parsley on it.
We like a little lime juice on our rice, meat, corn, lettuce, salsa, I skip the cheese as I don’t like the fake cheeses unless totally melted.
Then I use a plain cashew yogurt in place of sour cream. We probably do this once per week since it’s easy and quick.
BillieI found that finding vegan recipes help to avoid egg which is VERY hard to substitute. We aren’t vegan, but it’s easy to add meat to recipes.
Our family is gluten free (celiac), and dairy and egg free as well due to allergies for a different autoimmune issue (called EoE).
We have cooked for our aunt who is also corn (and soy and nut) free.
Check out some allergy friendly cookbooks (Pure Delicious by Heather Christo, Healthy Meal Prep by Lisa Bryan).
Good luck. I know this is hard.
ChristinaI make a smoothie with 4-5 strawberries, a handful of blueberries, a little bit of honey, cup or two of coconut milk, I used Greek yogurt cup or two (but you could use non dairy yogurt for protein), and a banana.
MonicaHomemade granola, chia seed pudding with fruit, breakfast potatoes, and Irish oats. Aldis has some great gf chicken sausage links.
Can you have a garden where you live? We grow a lot of our food.
We too are gf, dairy free, soy free, and eat only organic foods, especially corn products.
KynaYou sound like me with all of my allergies. I just amassed a large collection of second hand allergy cookbooks at thrift shops over the years.
There’s also a huge resource for recipes on the internet now.
I think there’s also an AI tool where you can put in what ingredients you are allergic to and it won’t use those.
Lisabaked chicken wings coated with baking powder and seasoning. Season the wings and sprinkle with baking powder coat evenly and place on parchment.
They are amazing.
SmithI only had to worry about gluten free for a while, but I tried to focus on things already gluten free, such as chicken breast with spinach stuffing etc.
Buying the substitutions or quick meals is so expensive. But keeping things simple with fruits, veggies and meat helps.
