I have a tablet (android) can you check out books from the library for it? Trying to save a little money.
Are there specific apps or platforms that support this? Do all libraries offer this service, or does it depend on the library?
Also, are there any restrictions on the types of books available for borrowing?
I’d love to hear about your experiences and recommendations!
KeelerIf your library offers ebooks then yes, you just have to get whatever app your library uses.
Some also offer music, movies, and audiobooks as well
CallieYou’d have to visit your library’s website and log in and see if their e-books are compatible with your tablet.
PatMy library uses both Hoopla and Libby. Gives me more choices.
HelenI had a Samsung Chromebook; added a Kindle app as well as Libby; was able to download videos, audiobooks, ebooks, as well as music available with Hoopla.
RayanneCheck what your local library offers. Mine offers ebooks and audiobooks through Libby and then ebooks, audiobooks, and movies through Hoopla.
Usually, you just need a library card to get started!
AmbriLibby is the main app but some libraries have other services. Definitely check with them to see what they have, limits, and how to log in.
Every library does it differently.
