Finally! Mortgage is paid up!
After years of hard work, dedication, and budgeting, paying off a mortgage is a huge milestone! For those who’ve achieved this financial freedom, how did you mark the occasion?Did you throw a party, go on a vacation, or treat yourself to something special?
Share your experiences and ideas for celebrating this significant accomplishment!
MarkCongratulations. We will be mortgage free as soon as our house sale is completed (hopefully next month).
We have moved to a much cheaper area and bought a better (but much less valuable) house so we can work to live rather than just to pay off debt.
MonicaWhat a nice thing to have a paid off home! Congratulations!
AprilSomeday I will be saying this. Until then I cheer for those who have. Big accomplishment!
DamarisIs the mortgage paid “up” (no longer in arrears) or paid “off” (no longer have a mortgage)
JamieAwesome, we are hoping we can get ours paid off by December 2025
MaryIt is so freeing not to have a mortgage. Congratulations
CharlieCongratulations! We paid ours off about 8 years ago. It’s a great feeling.
ElizabethCongratulations! It was our happiest day when we finally paid off ours. One month later, my husband was attacked at work, causing a TBI. He passed five months later from a secondary brain bleed, even though he was almost ready to come home from rehab.
Hold your husband near, and may he fully heal and you have a lot more years together in that house you own free and clear!
