Congratulations. We will be mortgage free as soon as our house sale is completed (hopefully next month).

We have moved to a much cheaper area and bought a better (but much less valuable) house so we can work to live rather than just to pay off debt.

Someday I will be saying this. Until then I cheer for those who have. Big accomplishment!

Is the mortgage paid “up” (no longer in arrears) or paid “off” (no longer have a mortgage)

Awesome, we are hoping we can get ours paid off by December 2025

Congratulations! We paid ours off about 8 years ago. It’s a great feeling.

Congratulations! It was our happiest day when we finally paid off ours. One month later, my husband was attacked at work, causing a TBI. He passed five months later from a secondary brain bleed, even though he was almost ready to come home from rehab.

Hold your husband near, and may he fully heal and you have a lot more years together in that house you own free and clear!
