Hi everyone! I have a 2-year-old who absolutely loves freeze-dried fruit — it’s become one of his favorite snacks. The problem is, it’s pretty pricey.
At Walmart, I’m seeing prices around \$4 per ounce, which adds up fast when your little one is asking for it every day!
I’m wondering if anyone here has tips or suggestions on where I can buy freeze-dried fruit for less.
Are there any stores, online shops, or bulk options that offer better deals? Or maybe even ideas for making it at home (though I don’t have a dehydrator)?
I’d really appreciate any advice.
Thanks in advance!
ClaudetteMaybe invest in a dehydrator. It can be used to dehydrate food for future use.
Just a thought.
LorettaI know Dollar Tree has freeze dried fruits and my kids love them.
I started dehydrating fruits as an alternative (though not the same texture), but I involve the kids in the dehydrating process and they enjoy it
SalomeTry Trader Joe’s been while since I have bought them there so not sure of what the price is now..
PamBuy a dehydrator and make them yourself. Or you could do it in the oven
AndreaI bought dried bananas and strawberries in huge cans from Amazon.
I think there’s other fruits too…
JulieI just looked for a freeze machine and one is for about 115$. I think it would be worth it to get a machine!
ChelseaI’ve seen freeze dried strawberries, mango and pineapple at Dollar Tree before
AmyIs it cheaper to buy it by the #10 can? I get Simple Kitchen brand off of Amazon
