We live in a suburb and got a flat window antenna years ago. We get a lot of local channels. We have Amazon Prime but rarely watch movies or programming on it.

We also watch free Tubi and PlutoTV.

We had FuboTV for football season but cancelled it because we’ve seen a decline in programming and technical quality since it first started.

I’m trying to get away from tv this year and read more.

I stream ambience and music from YouTube.

Dumped cable 14 years ago, don’t have an antenna for local-get that via their websites.

Have internet through local utility company and watch only Netflix and Prime.

I purchased one for my father in my house. There is no guarantee you will get the channels you want or that the signal will be strong enough.

If you go that route make sure you can return it it it doesn’t do what you want.

My father is happy enough with what he gets although he misses some of his games when at my place

I cut cable 10 yrs ago. We use Roku. Yoy can get Live TV for free. I also use an attennta. I have Hulu and Netflix also.

All of that is less than cable.

Doesn’t go out like Dish did every time it rained!!!!

It might depend on how close you are to the broadcast station. My friend has a digital antenna and gets some local channels.

Have had antenna for decades; no choice when we first built our home. Still use it for local news; receive major network programming plus numerous sub channels.

If we lived in metro area, I’ve no idea how many channels we’d have access to; as it is we have over 40.

Down load the very local app. You put in your zip code and you can stream local news. Only down side is you need to wait 30 minutes after original air time.

I ordered dad a small antenna with a remote where he could turn it from his chair to get better reception from amazon…hung it out on a post on the covered porch and he could pick up over 70 channels in Georgia

We did, but we wound up getting YouTube TV because of football. Still only half the price of cable.

Yep. I buy myself cheap subscriptions on Black Friday, then enjoy them plus all my free channels.

If you have a Roku or an Amazon stick, the possibilities for free TV are endless.

Absolutely!! Shoulda done it sooner!! Bought Smart tv and the antenna from Amazon. Mounted it on the roof, used all the cables already running to cable box, plugged them into ANT on back of TV’s and run ” channel scan”.

Done!!

You’ll need to keep Internet obviously but my “cable bill” went from $200+ to $60. BIG WIN!!
