I’m a dumpster diver. Last night @ Wall Greenz I found this sealed package of TP. They tossed it because there was a rip in the packaging.

This is just one of tons of things I get for free.

      This is the best hobby!

There is so much waste in this country, it’s sad. But good for you!

I found a whole commercial dumpster fill to the top with Christmas candy once. It’s was just a few days past Christmas. Why they didn’t sell it all at 90% discount us beyond me.

Anyways, filled my little sedan to the brim and I was in college at the time, and pretty much everyone was game for bags of free candy

I guess you can’t care about where it comes from when you’re a broke college student!

We dumpster dive every year when the students get out of university. Such expensive items just thrown away with no regard.

I’m a retired police officer and my neighbor is a doctor.

I can tell you why Joann’s Fabric Store has gone out of business. Anytime there is a return, it has to be thrown away. Even if it’s never taken out of the box.

Sewing machines, $300 Ott lamps, etc. It was ridiculous!!

Any overstock has to be destroyed.

I don’t know who was running that company, but they certainly ran it into the ground!

I used to live in an apartment complex that consisted of 20 buildings with 12-24 apartments in each building. Next to the dumpster, they had a bulk/furniture place where people would leave large items.

Since it was such a big complex, people were constantly moving out.

The furniture that people would leave was crazy. Dressers, tables, couches, tons of stuff.

Some of it was junk but there was plenty of decent stuff.

I’ve heard of grocery store employees making sure the produce they tossed was off to one side of the dumpster to keep it clean for the people that were looking for food.

Years ago a church friend’s property backed up to Aldi’s.

All of the kids gather around her trunk after services to reap the benefits of her labor!

OMG if I was visual, I could see myself doing this, but I couldn’t imagine dumpster diving and not knowing what I’m sticking my hand in since I can’t see lol my kids taught me the strategy of dumpster diving in a college town.

They found some pretty cool furniture and things that college students would just put on the side curb lol.

I’ve heard that you can get a lot of good stuff from Best Buy, also.

Probably any electronics or furniture store; they toss something if it’s just missing a simple screw or bolt…

Walmart throws out a lot of stuff and lock their dumpsters. They damage it out and trash it.
