They are talking about blood proteins, not the protein you get from food. The blood protein is how enzymes, vitamins, hormones, lipids are circulated through the blood stream.

      Hydration/dehydration can be a factor.

In the UK we donate blood for free. Well, we get a cup of tea and maybe a biscuit for our contribution

Please see your primary for a check up. There are ( rare) diseases that cause kidneys to spill protein, especially if you’re on a high protein diet.

It’s wonderful you’re donating plasma, but take care of you first.

Maybe you are donating too often for right now.
            Try giving yourself a break.

This just just happened to me the other day which really stinks because I was counting on the money. I’ve also been donating for about four months.

She told me they checked the protein each time, but they also send it out every four months for more complete check, she said there’s no rhyme or reason to it.

Some people just need to donate for a few weeks and then take a week off.

She said she seen some guys coming in that were super muscular whose protein was low That I use my Fitness to keep track of and protein no matter how hard I try.

Interesting This just happened to me as well.

I used to donate and was also told my protein was low. I started drinking a 30 mg protein drink the day before I donated and it really helped.

The older you get, the less likely you’ll be able to donate plasma.

Make sure you each 2 hours before donation. Push the protein and/or drink an extra protein shake

Please use correct terminology – a donation does not mean you give something in exchange for money. You are *selling* your plasma. Nothing wrong with that but it’s not a donation!

They are able to pay you because they turn around and sell that to the beauty industry and then it gets incorporated into hair treatments etc.

If you ask them they can give you tips about what type of food and when to eat it to help you pass the screening

Yes, so where I go, they check a base level of protein each time and every 3-4 months they do a complete protein analysis.

If it comes back too low sometimes it was just an off day for you.

I eat plenty of beans and fortified cereals to help with both iron and protein levels
