Sat down and listed out all of my bills and my income for the month. One of the goals for 2025 is starting an emergency fund. As of now we have none as it was completely depleted in 2024.

What are some ways to bring in extra income? Full time teacher and mom.

      Not interested in MLM.

        What is MLM?
As a teacher can you tutor a student work a second gig on nights or weekends.

Build your emergency fund and always contribute to it.

I don’t have any income ideas for you. Just wanted to say the best way to save money is to always pay yourself first, the minute money comes in to your account.

Then budget to live off what’s left.

That’s worked very well for me.

Pet sitter / dog walker. I’ve been doing this as a side hustle for the past 10+ years. Some months are slow but others bring in a decent amount of cash.

This has helped me out tremendously.

I get clients from word of mouth, I don’t work for an agency.

Shop Goodwill and thrift shops. I am a professor in a U and almost all my clothes are second hand.

it isn’t a quick thing by any means, but I’ve written two dozen adult books over the last four years and made quite a bit, for the first two years my books really took off and I made more than my day job most months.

Always different creative ways for side hustles

When you pay off a bill, continue paying this amount to yourself, via automatic bank transfer, to your emergency fund. You are already used to not having it.

Also, same when you get a raise

Yes, the emergency fund must be replaced and funded, so if you could pay the unexpected replenishing the fund can become difficult.

Declutter, sale things as one man’s junk is another’s treasure. Do you make things, do craft shows throughout the year.

If you have your Master’s degree you can teach online community college courses.

I do that in addition to my day job and it covers all the large unexpected expenses.

Wait to eat out and buy convenience foods until you have your emergency fund.

My daughter is a special ed teacher. Several years ago she made lesson plans and she sells them on teachers pay teachers. I don’t know any details, but she makes at least $100 per month and has made as much as $900.

                                It’s passive income.

It’s seasonal, so not reliable, but some folks do really well.

We try to pay cash for everything and put the change in a piggy bank. Its amazing how fast it can add up

I have a part time server job just one or two shifts a week. Or something like DoorDash or uber?

I haven’t. Been able to find anything from home to do

I’m a full time teacher, and I also freelance as a writer, editor, and musician.

I pay for all kinds of extra needs for our family that way!
