Keep her on your coverage with marketplace. Its ok to be double covered and will cover her when she is home

You might consider keeping the WA plan. The WA plan should still cover urgent and emergency care while at school.

Then do regular check-ups when she’s home.

That’s what I did with my youngest.

Don’t know about the subsidies, but there are marketplace plans that offer multistate coverage, I’d check if that is an option and if you’ll be able to get any subsidy for it.

I have a ppo plan from the marketplace that has a national network.

It is NOT okay to have the Marketpace and another major medical policy like through a group, employer or Medicaid.

I am a broker and saw that suggested and want to make sure you know.

The marketplace will have out of state emergency coverage and you could get a MEC plan to cover doctors and stuff that works for both states.

            I hope that helps!

You also get screwed on subsidies when one spouse goes into Medicare, but the other spouse is still under age 65.

You still have to include the Medicare holder’s household income.

We did not use the marketplace but we had a plan that covered multiple states through a PPO instead of an HMO.

I’m also in California with a kid who went to college in Washington and one who went to college in Oregon.

I know there is covered California anthem plan in Southern California.

I wonder if there is an anthem PPO.

I imagine there may be doctors who take anthem in Washington.

Can someone with your daughter’s athletic department help advise you? There must be other families in the same situation.

What state are you in? If Oregon or Washington, I have someone who can help

We kept my daughter on our private health insurance when she was out of state at college.

We had to affirmatively opt out of the school coverage.

Why can’t she stay on the plan? She lives with you and needs health care
