I’m leaving on a 3 day drive tomorrow for vacation. I made my food for the trip. Sausage and Sliders and Peach Cobbler Muffins.

I also made homemade trail mix for munching in between.

Taking cereal bars, milk and coffee for breakfasts, apples and pnut butter for evening snacks.

We brought dry cereal, bananas, bagels, butter, made subs for lunches. Essentially ate our own breakfast and enjoyed dinner out.

Also brought a few bottles of wine and water for drinks.

There were 3 of us and this saved us quite a bit. Made the trip more enjoyable!

That’s the way to be frugal! Excellent road trip food. Thanks for sharing this idea.

Smart of you to prepare like this. Fast food would cost a fortune and is so unhealthy. Drive safe!!

Strong work! When I was young and going on several-day drives, my mom made chicken, celery with cream cheese, et al.

The crunch in the celery was good for staying awake!

I’m instantly taken back to my young years. We made food for every trip. Back then they had so many picnic tables by main roads.

Such great memories. How I miss it.

Thank you for bringing it back and reminding me

I wish I wasn’t allergic to everything. I’m limited to meat, poultry, seafood and greens. Travel is so challenging as a result.

My most recent trip to my nephew’s wedding I had to take cans of salmon so I could eat breakfast for the week
