New to investing… I have $2k in a mutual fund being managed at 1% and I want to move it to a self-managed account at Vanguard. Is now a good time to sell and switch? I read that stocks are down right now, so I think I would take a loss.
PatrickDon’t try to time the market. Sell and transfer the funds.
NikolasJust transfer and do it. The loss now won’t mean a thing in 15 years.
PaulThe best time to do the right thing is now.
Davidor just don’t worry about it and moving forward buy low cost index funds.
big picture: on 2K 1% won’t hurt you too much.JoshuaYou’ll lose some but, you’re just beginning. Eat the loss and get into low cost index funds. The main thing is consistently putting money in. Buy the dip. Buy the rise.
It’s a long game.
Mark1% AUM is highway robbery. But 1% of $2k is not. Move now while the amount is small.
