I’m planning to start investing in individual stocks and would love to get some insights from experienced investors or anyone familiar with the current platforms.
What do you think is the best platform for buying and managing individual stocks?
I’m particularly interested in factors like ease of use, low or no commissions, research tools, real-time data, and customer support.
Security and reliability also matter a lot to me, especially since I’m looking to invest for the long term.
There seem to be many options out there—like Robinhood, Fidelity, E\*TRADE, TD Ameritrade, Webull, and others—and it’s a bit overwhelming trying to choose the right one. If you’ve had personal experience (good or bad) with any of them, I’d really appreciate your thoughts.
Also, do some platforms cater better to beginners vs. more experienced traders?
Thanks in advance for your help!
AntoinoFidelity Schwab, interactive brokers, Vanguard moo moo Robin Hood I could keep going on, but the bottom line is you are here to make yourself wealthy regardless of what platform you use the bottom line is up to you to get rich
DanieleI use Robin Hood. You can trade from 7 AM to 8Pm. That gives you a huge advantage
FernandoI think before you get on any platform read at least three books.
Start with the best loser wins than liars poker then some day trading book.
RebeckaGreat to hear you’re getting into stocks. Some good platforms to check out are Robinhood (easy to use), Fidelity or Schwab (great for long-term investing), and TD Ameritrade if you want more advanced tools.
Just compare fees and features to see what fits your style best
JackI happily and gladly pay a FA 1%/year to manage my well diversified (yes, mostly stocks!) portfolio like I have for decades.
That’s why I know my wife and I will never have financial issues in our retirements.
JoseWell, If you’re focused on long-term investing, platforms like Fidelity, Charles Schwab, or Vanguard give you strong execution, rock-solid security, and seamless integration with retirement or taxable accounts ideal for buy-and-hold strategies with clean cost structures.
