Coinbase vs Robinhood: which platform is better to store crypto and why?
I’m looking to get some feedback on which platform is better for storing cryptocurrency: Coinbase or Robinhood.
I understand that both platforms offer a way to buy and sell digital currencies, but I’m specifically interested in how they compare in terms of security, ease of use, and long-term storage options.
Coinbase is known for its focus on cryptocurrency and offers a wallet for users, but I’ve heard that Robinhood is simpler and might be a good option for beginners, even though it doesn’t provide a personal wallet.
Which platform do you recommend for storing crypto? Are there any major advantages or drawbacks to one over the other, especially when it comes to keeping my assets safe?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Thanks!
JakeNeither.
If you forced me to choose it’s coinbase. The correct answer is private wallet. Preferably hardware wallet and/or multisignature setup.
It’s not costly to get a hardware wallet and it’s a one time expense.
Order direct from the manufacturer.
TomDon’t leave them on either. I would suggest buying on River, Strike, or Fold rather than supporting the casinos.
KenIf you know that little about bitcoin I would just buy the ETF $IBIT in Robinhood
JasonFor storage? Neither. You want to store in a non-custodial wallet where you own the keys.
DaveThe only thing worse than robinhood is Wells Fargo. I’d never do any business with either
JordanYou should have a cold wallet. The keys are offline = you actually own the assets.
Get off exchanges asap, especially centralized ones.
KyleI would say coinbase if you must go down this route of custodial storage. They are the largest, hold most institutional BTC.
If they mess up, it would severely damage the whole bitcoin environment.
FrancisCoinbase, it’s a real crypto house, not an after market feature add on that Robinhood recently implemented.
BatBuy Bitcoin on Strike and River, and self custody with a hardware wallet.
Don’t use crypto casinos, they’re made to take your money
TimCold storage tangem or semi cold like Xaman. You can get a credit/debit card for it too.
