It’s time for me to get back on track financially and tackle my unnecessary debt. Other than credit reports, what resources should I use to get a clear picture of my debt?
I’m 100% sure I have medical debt in addition to credit cards and student loans.
Looking for advice so that I can create a clear picture for myself and face it head on.
Thanks in advance!
KathleenOnce you find all your debts, start a spreadsheet where you list out all of them, the amt due, date due, finance charges, etc. and total it up.
Update it every time you make a payment so you see progress.
Pay for everyday expenses in cash.
Carry only one credit card. Don’t cancel any cards as you want to keep the good credit history. Just stash them away so you don’t use them. Good luck.
Facing this head on now will definitely help you with your future finances.
EllenA lot of people have used Undebt It to get a handle on their debts, make decisions on what to pay off, and stay motivated to meet their goals.
BradI use the empower dashboard and also sign into experian to look at my credit score and debts.
JohnWhen I’ve helped people in the past we always start with credit reports to take inventory of how many accounts they have, how much is owed on each, the status of each account & then create a plan to attack the debt from there
