Since time is money, what thrifty ways do you have to minimize workload around the house?

For instance, I tend to batch cook and eat on it for a few days to minimize dishes and cook time and I buy the same style socks to reduce the amount of time mating them.

Got a Roomba for Christmas and, hate to admit this, it has been a game changer. Quincy (yes, he has a name) not only vacuums but mops too.

My house hasn’t been so clean!

I buy the same style socks too. I can only batch cook when my husband is on a business trip because he doesn’t like eating leftovers very much.

I have a large curtain rod hanging in my laundry, after the wash I put all the shirts directly on the hangers to dry before putting away in closets.

Save dryer use and time folding and putting away

Batch cooking is great. I also wear clothes more than once. I’m retired and don’t do anything to get sweaty or dirty.

              Reduces laundry.

I clean as I go. I wash dishes as I cook, swish the toilet and wipe down sink and shower after use.

My honey vacuums the family room and I do the rest, weekly.

The kitchen and entry floor gets a quick sweep about every other day. Toys are picked up with my help before bed.

Shelf/ves in fridge are wiped down when nearly empty or if something spills. Everyone makes their beds in rhe morning. It’s a joint effort.

My nemisis is dusting so that gets done less frequently and only a room at a time. I can barely bring myself to do that.

I hate it that much. But it gets done.

I am not a germaphobe nor do I worry about much. I am never embarrassed of my home. I put more effort into it if we are having visitors.

It helps that I’ve gotten rid of alot of “stuff”.
Mostly, we do a little something each day as needed.

I had mismatched socks on while visiting my 4 year old daughter. She noticed.

I went home and ordered a 10 pack of socks.

Keep a big roll of kitchen trash bags in the bottom of the kitchen trash can so they’re right there when you are emptying the trash and you need them.

We have 2 cat boxes and keep a supply of ‘poop bags’ (grocery store bags) within a couple feet of the box.

Combine trips, doing errands or stopping by the store or post office when you’re out anyway for a doctor appointment and stop and get gas on the way home.

I drive around with Goodwill donations in the back of my car until I go to the grocery store that has a Goodwill next door.

I also love to batch cook for a few days meals! Just made a pot of taco soup. Run errands when I need to be out for appointments.

Do as much outside work as I can at once to cut down on laundry.

Wash dishes as I go when cooking.

I also do that. Being an empty nester now, we also try to only do laundry once a week, and grocery shopping once a week. I cook more helpings than we would eat, and freeze for other days.

I cook beans in bulk, then freeze in 1 1/2 cup portions (size of a can) to add to soups.

It’s cheaper than buying cans, and better flavor too. We garden too, and though we don’t can, I freeze lots of cooked up tomatoes for my soups.

Anything you can prepare and freeze or can, definitely saves time snd money.

I use a robotic vacuum in between true vacuuming (which means I do that less often). I let it run while I do errands or laundry.

I use the crock pot for what the hubby calls my “one dish wonder meals” when I know I am going to be gone all day and know I won’t want to cook when I get back.

I wear my church clothes up to 3 times prior to washing.

I only wear em for an hour, so I just come home and change and hang em back up unless I have a stain or something.

I also batch cook and freeze portion sized containers of leftovers in sectioned microwavable plates for quick dinners that accommodate a variety of schedules.

When I have leftovers but not enough for a full meal, I use them in other food so I don’t waste them.

My time is not money. I use my time to do things that might cost me more money – mend things, garden, cook from scratch.
