I made a bunch of masks about 5 years ago, now I don’t know what to do with the ones that didn’t get used. I’ve trimmed off the elastic to use again, but what about the fabric?

These measure about 4.5”x6.5”. Any ideas?

The ones we used as a family we’ve been using as handkerchiefs, but don’t need any more of those.

People are still wearing masks. Especially those who are protecting loved ones (newborn babies, the elderly) or who are immunocompromised themselves.

I’m sure you could find a place to donate masks.

I’m using masks again. I don’t even want to catch what some people are coming down with right now.

Covid is still out there, as are several other contagions. Offer them to the Dr’s office or just keep them handy for if one of you becomes ill.

Look like they could be used for quilts. Cozies for glasses/water cans. Napkins? Scrunchies?

change how stitched and they could be dry snack containers to go.

I have autoimmune diseases and every time I get sick I have to go off my meds. I had covid 2x in a two month period between Xmas 2023 and Valentine’s Day 2024. I am still not right.

I have no choice but to wear a mask to protect myself.

I nearly black out walking around a grocery store in 15 mins.

Ive been trained in full hazmat gear. Rated masks with filters don’t filter viruses or anything else smaller than. 3 microns. However a cloth mask is good for ash, so put in an emergency kit for every member of your family, or dust, so put in a cleaning or workshop kit.

Those are uses they should be used for.

During the pandemic and fires we had people wearing masks around town, in the winter with no coat, and then in summer with the fires hang gliding in the worst air we’d ever seen.

I couldn’t understand how people could not see how messed up that was. That ashy air is no joke. And dust from projects won’t do you any favors either.

Also though, even though they won’t stop a virus and you’ll breathe it on through, they do stop spit, and bacteria because bacteria is a larger molecule.

So, if you have any active illness, and can’t stay home, which I’ve always been a fan of, then mask up to stop sneezing on everyone.

This is why doctors wear them in surgery, to stop bacteria But masking to not get sick is ridiculous.

The first rule of ppe is to not use what you don’t need, because it hinders oxygen intake, which will make any virus a nice oxygen deprived environment, and because it’s difficult to work in, so only use it when you have to.

                    Hand washing is always effective.
                    Just my two cents.

Save them…never know when masks might be needed again

Fold them and sew some edges and add a button or two. Make little bags. I keep one like that in my purse for organizing.

Easy to use for all kinds of things.

Masks are still useful especially during flu season. I still wear mine when I leaved the house.

I had some like this too, but recently got Covid so I decided to start wearing again to the store and other places so I do not get sick again too soon at least.

Donate to doctors or medical groups that do volunteer overseas medical trips.

Check with local hospitals, nursing homes etc.

Kansas public health officials say the state’s ongoing tuberculosis outbreak is the largest since the CDC started reporting TB cases in the 1950s. Bird flu has mutated to other species.

Our president has put a non medical, anti vaccer in charge of healthcare, while also withdrawing from the WHO & shutting down communication from the CDC.

We’ll be ground zero for the next pandemic at this rate.

You’ll most likely be using them again in the not too distant future.

                                  Sadly.
