      Here’s a hack–I got a part-time job at Planet Fitness!
I’ll be working 16 hours a week. The job pays $11/hr. and my pay increases every 6 months or so.

I’ll get a 4% match on my 401k as a part-time employee after one year of employment. I’ll also get a free gym membership, free beverages, and I can bring a guest for free!

You may be asking why I’ve picked up a side gig:
-I have always struggled with maintaining a consistent workout regimen.

The saying, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with” is so true.

I’ve found that I have greater success when I surround myself with people who have already achieved something that I am working towards, so what better way to immerse myself into an environment? Health is wealth, after all.

-We’re halfway through the year and I’ve contributed exactly $0 into my Roth IRA. My plan is to contribute 100% of my paycheck into my Roth IRA.

I should be able to max out my IRA if I do this. I will essentially net $0 from my side gig, and I’m perfectly okay with that.

-I joined Planet Fitness about a month ago, so working there allows me to save a few hundred bucks every year.

Do you have a side hustle? If so, what do you do?

Why wouldn’t you contribute to your 401k through planet fitness and get the 4% match instead of contributing to your Roth IRA?

I work with an even florist. It’s super fun to watch other people spend stupid money.

Ah you net zero in the short term that will payoff in the long term….plus the 4% match to the 401K.

That’s winning all day with an opportunity to max healthy activity.

            Get it!!

I’ve always been a fan of working jobs with tangible benefits (Ie free membership/food/major discount)

My side hustle is working as a 50/50 supervisor at a nearby arena for hockey games and concerts. It pays about $100 for a 5-6 hour shift. I get 50% off all food and I see a lot of events for free.

It’s a physically active job so I get my steps in too.

This money goes into my “fun account”. I get my nails done, buy new clothing, eat out, etc.

I don’t need it to pay bills, but this way I’m not dipping into bill money.

I get 4-8 shifts a month during hockey season and 0-2 the rest of the year. It’s been great!
