Looking for help from the brain trust I have 50k I need to put somewhere. I have a years worth emergency fund in a HYSA already and I’m invested in VTSAX outside of my 457, 403b and Roth 403b which I try to max. The kids have a 529 I put into.
I was looking into VOO and QQQ/qqqm. I’m the type to get it and forget it if you know what i mean.
Any advice would be great!
TIA
KarenFirst pay off any debt that has interest above inflation or 3-5%. Second, are you able to max both the 457 and the 403b? My government job allows me to max BOTH into retirement savings.
You’d be limited by your net salary per month, but it would be a great way to ramp up retirement savings.
Great job already with your emergency funds.
ScottThe talking heads say 2025 is going to be a breakout year for small caps you may want to do a small cap ETF
MarkDepends on what ur overall strategy is. It’s still all the same companies so u won’t be anymore diversified.
Or just do vtsax / vti
AaronVtsax includes all the companies in VOO and many of those in QQQ and QQQm. They’re highly correlated with each other.
If you’re looking to diversify then pick something different like international equities, real estate (REiT), bonds or crypto.
