Does anyone do work from home jobs? Seems like all I find are scams?

However, it’s hard to know which opportunities are trustworthy. Have you found any reliable work-from-home jobs or platforms?

I think I wanna work at home until I remember my cat likes my warm computer and she will bang on the door if I lock her out.

        She thinks she’s human.

I think the idea of work from home jobs sounds great, but in reality, it’s tough to find something that’s really a good fit for you.

I’m curious about the scam part of your comment.

In what way are you finding them to be scams? Not paying you? Ridiculous expectations for very little money?

          No real work to do?

Are they somehow getting money or personal information from you during the application process?

WFH is slowly going away. Sadly big corporations are making people go back in now and doing least 4 days in the office.

My niece wfh for discover. She does fraud prevention/claims. She loves it and it’s good for her because she has ms.

She can’t sit for too long, but she also can’t stand for too long.

This gives her the ability to move as she needs to.

It is pretty strict though; clock jn/out and their program counts your mouse movements.

I do but I worked in the office for many years first and then slowly they allowed people to work from home as they grew out of their space, I would be weary of anything that is from home day 1.

I do. It’s entirely remote unless you live in San Diego. It’s for Tandem Diabetes Care.

                    I’m in tech support though.

I would network with family, friends, neighbors, & acquaintances. If you go to church, clubs, gym…etc ask them & see if they know any remote jobs you can apply & use them as reference.

That’s how l landed most of my jobs.

I think all the chain tax return companies are hiring for remote workers.

They will send you through a free training course.

Yes, I’ve been work from home for years but I am also in tech. There are legitimate jobs/companies but competition is fierce.

I’m a financial controller and I work for a fully remote company. I have elementary aged children so wfh was a requirement when I looked for jobs.

I found mine on LinkedIn 3 years ago.

I do, but no use mentioning it as the rest of my company except my team went back to the office not to long ago. I know several people who wfh.

A lot of the health related companies still have some going and places like the resort timeshare places.

At least I know people in those areas. A lot of companies pulled back on the wfh unfortunately so that big boom is dying.

What type of experience do you have? I do payroll but I have a hybrid schedule but the job was never advertised as remote.

I was able to make it remote

I applied for a wfh job, they contacted me and did phone interview. Went through all the usual pre employment questions, forms, w2 and everything.

Said they had company laptop with required software, web cam and printer they were sending me.

I called and made appointment to have home internet installed. They contacted me for consent for background check.

Never heard from them again until I randomly checked my credit report about a month later and there were $100k+ plus of fraudulent charges!!!!

Never again will I trust a wfh job posting!!!!!!

Are you searching by profession? If not then that might be the problem. Find a job that you qualify for then see if you can do it remotely.

I would suggest you go to your local state employment office & inquire about “virtual” jobs.

You will know they are legit.

I do. However I’m a regulatory consultant. So, I do have to travel on occasion, but 90% of my job is remote.

I’m in Australia but a lot of government jobs are at least 3 days a week WFH and won’t ever go back to working in the office full time.

Maybe gov jobs are the same where you are?
