Hi Everyone! I’m getting married soon, and we are looking for a ring with a pear shaped mossionite stone, and I’m allergic to metals so we are looking for gold plated.

And $200 or under. Anyone found a really good quality inexpensive ring that they love? And where?

Honestly, I know it sounds stupid. But look on Amazon. I got a 2 carat, circle cut moissanite, silver plated for around $50.

        And it looks amazing.

I haven’t had it too long so can’t say too much about durability, but I love it.

I will repeat what others have said,to check Etsy, but I looked at several and once you pick the type of metal for the band, most jump to well over $200.

I did a quick search on eBay and several come up in the $200 range. Some said 14 karat gold or plated.

I hope you find a ring that works and that you really like!

Etsy! I got my ring and band on there for around that price- the gold is real but the stone obviously not.

But it’s doo g great after three years.

              Just read reviews

If you’re allergic to metals, gold plated isn’t the way to go. Gold plated is usually over a base metal which is horrible. As a jeweler for nearly 20 years, I would invest in platinum.

It’s the purest hypoallergenic metal there is.

If you really need to stick with a budget I’d go for titanium or tungsten carbide but it wouldn’t be a traditional style ring like you have pictured.

Congrats! I will say that even with plated my skin reacts after wearing for extended time. I would search for something 14k gold instead.

10k may be an option depending on the severity of your reaction.

I’m also allergic to metal, even white gold now. Silver is totally ok though and cheaper and the plating won’t wear off

Look on eBay & Etsy. I see MANY Etsy sellers are buying from eBay then reselling items as their own. (1 eBay company in China sold earrings for $2.

Etsy seller was selling for $14.99.)

If you are allergic to metals, either buy platinum or something that can be rhodium plated.

Gold and white gold both can be plated, silver cannot.

I use to find great pieces on JTV. I watched them when they first started was great! Not sure if they’ve CHGD.

I haven’t been on there in many yrs they have a line for most of your criteria.

One jewelry company has moissanite and different valued settings
They regularly run sales according to the separate items characteristics .. like gold or silver or gemstones .. diamonds….

Color or designer or sets… Stones only . Even tools or bulk items so for jewelry makers

Ebay. Choose a loose stone and have it set in real gold. I’m also allergic metals and gold plated only last so long.

I assume this ring is going to last you the rest of your life.

My sister got a really nice ring on Etsy, lots of jewelry and not just crafty stuff anymore.

I have a lot of metal allergies and have also had luck with surgical steel, bonus points that its relatively cheap and doesn’t scratch or damage easily.

Quince has some nice jewelry too, not sure on ring price points tho

Be careful, if you are allergic to metal, you make be allergic to the chemicals used for plating.

How do you do with surgeries? Would surgical steel be a possibility?

They do have nickel free hypoallergenic stainless steel. That could be an option and cheaper than precious metals.

                                        Pretty strong too.

ModGents is great. They have alot of options and do not fade. I shower with some of my sets and wear for weeks at a time.

I can say if you wear them stacked, they do rub and the plating wears in that area. Other than that, great rings.

I’m pretty sure they’re sterling silver with gold plating.
