Curious about travel insurance… does anyone recommend it? If so, which ones? More concerned with losing cost of rental then anything.
I’m planning a trip and considering travel insurance, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it.
My main concern is protecting the cost of my rental (car, accommodation, etc.) in case something goes wrong.
Has anyone had a good experience with travel insurance? If so, which companies or policies do you recommend?
I’d love to hear about your experiences, especially if you’ve had to make a claim for lost or non-refundable expenses.
Thanks in advance for your advice!
JonathanCan you clarify what you need it for. I carry both travel insurance (protects against cancellations, lost luggage, ECT) and evacuation insurance (protects against medical, security evacuation and field rescue) I do a fair amount of off grid activities so I also carry a Garmin inreach satellite communicator that also has medical evacuation insurance as a added benefit.
JohnI always deny the travel insurance the same companies offer and get 3rd party ones which is at least half price cheaper.
I do it for my flights, cruises all the time. Only con, it not instant and takes a day or a few.
I did it for a flight with delta and they were able to refund me after 2 days showing proof and such.
FarreAllianz 100%. It covers you for whatever risks you don’t want to take while traveling.
