Wait til menopause when all the fat moves up to your midsection and your thighs and butt disappear?

My dad isn’t very overweight and has this issue. When my mom buys him jeans, she immediately reinforces the knees and thighs with a denim patch on the inside.

Makes them last so much longer!

buy short leg girdle not a pantie style one. it saves the thighs rubbing together.

Get some skimmies to wear under your dresses otherwise you’ll have sores in your inner thighs.

They are made of a very thin material.

They don’t write up and they protect your thighs.

I would try iron on interfacing on the inside of the area where it tends to wear out.

It is used to strengthen fabrics for many applications.

My daughter is skinny and has the same problem. Clothes just aren’t the same quality

When I was younger, my thighs rubbed together and I wore out my pants. Now that I am in my sixties, my legs are thinner overall.

                  No more rubbing.

If you’re experiencing inner thigh chafing, try Body Glide. It really helps

I wear skirts and dresses a lot for this reason. I wear silky or spandex shorts underneath since my thighs rub together.

Or leggings or tights during the winter.

I’ve been like that since I could walk! my mom used to sew patches inside my pants! as an adult I don’t do that.

                        I just find another pair.

You could probably use iron on patches on the insides to make them last longer.

I had a similar experience with old navy jeans, the style I had worn for years suddenly started splitting in the crotch.

I bought 3 or 4 new pairs, all of them split in the same place.

The only solution was to switch styles/brand

My daughter is skinny and hers wear out there first too. I think they just make crappy clothes now…

I saw some videos on you tube a while ago where some more fabric was sewn in using a zigzag stitch.

                                A lot of zigzagging though.

                                Maybe there’s more recommendations there.

Yes, this happens to me all the time and it’s so frustrating! Non-denim pants don’t seem to do this, maybe look into different materials.

Patches don’t work for me because the seams rub and hurt.

I thrift for good, thicker denim jeans and I get multiple pairs so I don’t wear the same pair as often.

It helps extend life of a single pair for me

I think there’s clear patches that you can iron on. That might limit the friction there, especially if ironed onto the outside of the jeans.

Yes!! Doesn’t matter what kind of jeans they are, or what weight I am (my thighs touch even when I’m skinny), they all do this.

Haven’t thought of anything I can do about it other than preemptively sewing patches on the inside, which would look ridiculous.

I went through a stage way back in the 70’s where I wore high waisted flared trousers.

There was a particular brand I loved most. BeBe’s. The waist band was three inches.

They were a very fitted style at the top so the crutch always came apart at the seams.

I had these pants in lots of different colours and they all did the same.

I was an active teenager, loved dancing so I was forever repairing the split seams but the fabric wasn’t thick enough to add patches.

I tried all different threads hoping I’d find one that didn’t break.

It happened so often I just bought new pants even though these were quite expensive, especially for someone only in their teen years with part time work.

I wish they had the iron on interfacing strips back then.

I’m sure they would have held together.

As an adult I’ve worked it out they were just a bad cut and should have been made with a more generous crotch area.

At least they weren’t so tight as to give a camel toe.

Iron on patches on the inside of the jeans has worked to extend the life of my jeans.

I usually don’t think about it until they start fraying but if you do them before it may work even better
