I’m sick of buying jeans every 2-3 months. I need something affordable but that lasts. I work in a warehouse and go thru jeans like crazy!

I either ware the crotch out or recently the zippers have been breaking.

Is there a brand that will last but not break the bank?

Do you have a Plato’s Closet in your area? They have good used jeans.

Every 2-3 months? Mine last at least 10 years! Learn to sew, so you can fix them and put an new zipper in.

You need pants that are designed for heavy work. You might also want to learn to sew to mend small tears.

Try and buy jeans that don’t have stretch. I like Levi’s 501s.. you can find good quality jeans at vintage stores too

There was a documentary about how one of the effects of “fast fashion” is that companies use thinner, lower quality fabric.

They compared new with older jeans, and the difference was significant.

Because of this, I would buy older jeans at thrift stores (or buy work pants).

Wranglers? My suggestion is to try going to a farm store like Murdoch bomgarrs Menards etc. and maybe even getting men’s jeans.

Since you need functional long lasting

Iron on patches on the inside of the jeans help them last longer.
Invest in some proper work pants, like Dickies, that will last longer.

Goodwill is the land of jeans and black pants! If you have time you can save a bundle and try different brands

I haven’t tried it yet, but I noticed that the men’s jeans from Walmart seem to last longer. I saw a woman online who said the men’s jeans from Walmart fit her very well.

I think I am going to try some on next time I buy jeans. I am a gardener and ride horses, so I wear out my knees pretty easily.

I have used iron on patches for jeans.

If you put them on the inside of the knee before you actually wear the holes in your jeans last a little longer without a noticeable patch.

Buy men’s jeans if you can. The material tends to be thicker.

Work jeans should be looser than fashion jeans. I’d go up a size and wear a belt.

I work in a factory and I wear scrub pants to work. Cooler than jeans in summer and not as binding as jeans.

                                    They last me years lol

Do not use fabric softener or crystals. It weakens the fabrics. Try to rotate wearing your jeans and wear at least twice before washing and hang dry and if you have a dryer only throw it in for a few mins to soften once dry.

When I used to wear jeans I bought better quality ones that cost abt 80 a pair and did that and they lasted abt 4 to 5 yrs

I don’t know if you have to have jeans or not, but I discovered Skechers pull on pants, like leggings, but not skin tight on the bottom.

They are only like $35 on Amazon.

Super comfortable, stretchy and no zippers.

I feel like they are attractive and well made too.

Project farm did a stress test on jeans recently. Consider second hand stores or work pants like Dickies.

Our Marshall’s just had Dickies for under $10

Shop thrift store…. not all stores are created equal so check prices at the stores in your area. Some by me are pricey!

With it being the zipper and crotch I’d suggest getting them a size or even two bigger. They’re failing at stress points.

Looser means there’s less stress on those areas.

I commentated already about the Skechers pants. They are called women’s go walk high waisted pant joy. I get them on Amazon.

They are the most comfortable, and no zippers, they are pull on.

What brands have you been buying that fail? That might help us know what quality you’re starting with and recommend something more durable.

I don’t work in a factory but when I was younger I did a lot of work on a boat involving a lot of dirty work and heavy lifting. I wore Levi or LEI mostly and they lasted for years.

I think LEI is no longer at the same retailers, so I’m not sure if quality has changed since then.

Levi still works for me but I’m at a desk job now.
Carhartt is probably a great brand to try since they’re made for working in tougher environments.

Getting something with a looser fit would help too, since it won’t be stretched out all day, and even more when bending.

That will also help with not getting holes in the crotch.

buy men’s jeans, or specifically buy work jeans. Women’s jeans are made thinner and flimsier and often with stretchy materials, not real denim.
