Is buying from Temu or Shein worth it?
How is the quality/what is your honest opinion as a whole? Most importantly, has it actually saved you money on items?I’ve seen a lot of buzz about online platforms like Temu and Shein offering trendy items at super low prices.
They seem to have everything from clothes and accessories to home goods and more, all at a fraction of the cost compared to other stores. But before jumping in, I’m curious about the real value of shopping from these sites.
Does buying from Temu or Shein truly help you save money in the long run? How is the quality of the products you’ve purchased?
Have you had any issues with shipping, customer service, or returns?
Would you recommend these platforms to someone looking for affordable options, or do you think it’s better to invest in higher-priced alternatives for better durability?
I’d love to hear your personal experiences, good or bad, to help decide whether these platforms are worth trying.

JamieIt is on par with Walmart, some cheap junk, some surprisingly durable.
DevinaAlways read the reviews before you buy. You can find great quality dresses, blouses jeans/pants and jewelry at SHEIN for cheap.
At Temu, I spent $30 total for 4 girls for their Christmas presents; their gift bags
were filled to the top with things.
AntoniaI never use Temu for clothing. I have bern disappointed a couple times.
JaniceI used Temu a few times but shipping takes a long time! I prefer Shein!!
VeenaI have we’d Temu twice and have been dissatisfied both times. Buy fewer things and get quality.
PatTheir website descriptions don’t usually match the product and their shipping is terrible.
BetsyI have bought from Temu a few times most of the things I get are pretty good.
Have to be careful with shirts because sometimes they run a little small but a few household things I got were pretty nice.
SherryI’ve gotten some things that were really nice and useful and I’ve gotten some items that were just junk quality.
Lower your expectations
JacquelineThey have terrible child labor violations! I wouldn’t support them.
JoanneI will never buy from Shein or Temu.
I saw an article last year about Shein forcing workers to fulfill very high daily quotas for clothing items production per worker.Workers had to sometimes work up to 18 hours to get their quotas done.
Temu and Shein uses stolen designs from clothing designers or manufactured household products and has them copied and put into production without giving credit or money to the original designers.
I’m pretty sure Temu have forced labor in some inhumane conditions also.
CourtneyNo, it’s not worth it. It’s low quality items with unregulated materials. It’s cheap for a reason.
Corners are being cut with materials and with labor.
AutumnKeep your expectations low, but considering the prices, I have been mostly happy with my purchases, and I buy from them a lot!
KimberlyNever. These cheap overseas companies advertise ad nauseum, and people will fall for anything thinking they are saving a dollar. Meanwhile, local stores are going under left and right.
Think about what life will be like when all that’s left is this toxic, cheap crap – and then they’ll raise the prices.
I’ll shop local. It might cost an extra dollar but I won’t have to replace it anytime soon and it will keep my neighbors’ jobs.
I know I shouldn’t judge, but even after being told over and over about the cyber security concerns, people are still dumb enough to use their apps.
LaurelBought a lot of things I can’t find anywhere else. If not satisfied they will refund.
I don’t use my CC’s online for anything. I buy gift cards to use for temu and for other purchases I call the company.
You can call most companies customer service and they will take your order.
I have also found you can get better discounts.
