You can’t get anymore frugal than getting free filet mignon steaks from a food bank. I’m thawing these out to marinate them, and they’ll be either breakfasts or lunches next week.

We all deserve a nice meal every once in a while, even if comes from a food bank.

There’s no way I could ever afford a $50 pack of steak. That’s $12.545 per steak.

I urge anyone struggling to utilize food banks because so much stuff goes into the garbage if not taken or used.

I was so grateful recently because ours had venison! They offered me extra because people were refusing it since they didn’t know how to cook it.

I ended up with two roasts but insisted they take back one of my other produce items.

Fresh meat is super rare to come by at our local food pantry so I was absolutely overjoyed.

I so excited that your getting a good meal and nice treat as well!

Do not wait until your shelfs are empty, the food pantries have more than food.

The one I volunteer at will help with information to get assistance with lots of things, things you might not even know about.

They are kind and the priority is to get you assistance with your dignity intact.

Everyone needs help sometimes. The relief you will feel is worth a call.

That is so awesome. I know you will enjoy it and it will be a real treat for you. Best it be given out than go to waste.

Our food bank freezes meat before it goes bad and makes sure it goes to those in need.

That is a crazy price for the meat so glad it didn’t go to waste.

I have never had filet mignon but I hear it is good.

Getting meat from the food bank is truly a blessing. More often the only protein is dried beans (I love beans so I’m not complaining.

                    Congrats and enjoy!

A filet is the best cute of steak. I wouldn’t use it for breakfast, it’s definitely a fancy dinner steak. ENJOY

To all those currently using food banks, you are now part of a circle of giving and receiving, and your turn to give, whether as a volunteer, or a donor, will come.

Good for you! Enjoy! When I was unemployed and utilizing a food pantry I was always excited because they would give

Head deli meats and cheeses, which, even working, I never buy because it’s so expensive.

I dislike having to go to the food bank because of certain food restrictions. I have them deliver and then I trade foods with a neighbor.

It really helps a lot and I’m not there saying “I’m sorry I can’t eat that.”

We volunteered with my daughter’s Girl Scout troop one year at the food bank to redistribute the foods donated by the stores.

If they don’t sell it by a certain date, they freeze the meats so they can last a few months longer.

                              Enjoy your meal!

Kroger has their rib roast at &4.77/lb if you have their app and the Kroger card, if you don’t… it’s 6.99/lb with just the card.

I can’t believe this price and quality, it’s amazing, it’s not prime, it’s choice.

Well in my area there isn’t enough food in the food banks. They have to cut back on the amount given note.

So, NOTHING is thrown out at my food banks.

I volunteer at a food bank. On Friday, food that is left, is picked up by a church/churches that then have drive through food pickups on Saturday.

It helps with decreased wasted food.

And by all means if you need food, utilize the food pantries.

                                      That’s why they are there.

We got Alaska pollack in the freezer from a local food pantry. When I was living in Abilene, my late husband and I would get venison towards the beginning of fall from the hunters cleaning out their deep freeze.
