Frugal ideas to do with friends?
I have zero space in my small RV to do anything with friends and I have a friend wanting to come over.I am on LOA with no pay at the moment, so I have no money to go out to eat or do anything that consist of money.
Are there any ideas I can do that’s relatively free without having to hang out at my place?
DenniseThis time of year, there are a lot of free outdoor things like movies, concerts, yoga, festivals, parades, etc.
Churches often have free events for the community, ours has a small carnival, gospel type ‘concerts’, and bingo.
If not free, they might pass around a donation basket, you choose the amount… they usually include food (hot dog or spaghetti) or snacks (popcorn and snack).
KayMuseum have free days and some zoos. Library has free crafts., seeds ect. Discussion groups.
Churches
LisaCheck online, summertime there are so many free concerts in parks, live music, food truck parks where there is usually a place to sit and often music.
You can play cards, board games, etc .
KatelynnBoard games, card games, watch a movie, watch an episode, play a computer game, library, park, near the water (we have a lakefront area with park, sand, splash pad and community grills, Florida)
Whoops I guess I can’t read, could you put a table Outside? Do you have shade?
Does your park have a pool?
JoannePlay cards, make a meal at home, watch a movie, talk, do a craft together.
Go to library, go to a community activity…..
MirandaGo to library. Walk around thrift stores and look. Feed the ducks.
Volunteer to walk dogs together for the shelter
MelissaA picnic in a local park! You can pack your own food/drinks and meet the person there.
ShonMeet Rich generous friends. I have a few of them and they won’t ever let me pay a dime anytime we go out.
they know I’m broke and I can’t afford to go out so they just pay it and we already know.
MaryI’d invite her over to my humble abode, have a cooler with some cold drinks and fire up the grill.
A true friend doesn’t need to be impressed, and he or she’d probably be happy just spending time together.
SharonTell him to bring a bag chair. Ask him to pick up some cookies or donuts since he offered.
Sit outside and have some coffee and whatever he brings.
KellySpend time outdoors with your friend. Sit outside your RV and visit or play a board game. Go for a walk.
Meet at a nearby park.
Pack lunches and eat at the park.
SueMy friend comes over and often we just drink water and chat. We are both big on getting our 8 cups of water a day in.
She isn’t there to inspect my housekeeping.
We both aren’t snackers so food is not expected.
On occasion we have popcorn with a movie.
MicheleYes, get some free outdoor furniture and enjoy the day visiting, we don’t need to impress our true friends.
Picnic style food or what ever you have
PatriciaTry googling – free things to do in city/town name
It should bring up a list and if not you’re probably in a pretty rural area so I’d suggest a hike or picnic in the parkMarySounds like they might be aware of your situation and that is why they want to come over as it won’t cost anything.
Sounds like a great opportunity to sit and chat
MeganCheck local events on Facebook. Most have tons of free events in the summer.
We have local bands performing or movies in the park almost every day of the month in our surrounding communities.
ReginaMeet at a local park. Bring a blanket and some water to drink. Ask them to bring snacks.
If it’s too hot, try a library, or community center, they usually have places to sit and chat.
