I am curious, are you Portuguese by heritage? Just going by your name. I assume your wife speaks Portuguese by the fact that she was raised there. Do you speak the language?

I wonder how hard it is for someone to make the move without some fluency.

I have heard that Portuguese is harder to learn than Spanish. Congrats on the move.

      Sounds fantastic!

Did you leave family behind in the states? I’m hesitant to move by myself, and leave siblings and son.

Congrats to you both for striking out on a new adventure in your lives together!!

Congratulations! Quick question – when you say that you have been ‘acquiring real estate mortgages’ do you mean you’ve been real estate investing or is this a different type of investment?

When you say you’ve been acquiring mortgages, are you talking about buying tax liens?

If not, where do I learn about buying mortgages?

Lost a dear friend to cancer. Life is too short to plan ahead sometimes.

                    If I visit Azores
I would love to say hi!

What is your Insta? I would love to see how it goes there. Thinking of a similar move in the future.

My grandparents used to live on Faial and I’d visit them as a kid. Their house had an awesome view of Pico and I’ve wanted to go back someday.

                        Congratulations!!

Love this I have a few questions.
-What are your projected annual expenses there?

-How are you getting free medical coverage without being a resident?

How is food that cheap on an island? Everything has to be shipped or flown there?

That’s a big reason most people don’t move to vacation places like the Bahamas

Congratulations! We lived on the island of Terceira from 2001-2003. I was flight attendant and was able to visit some of the other islands while there.

                              Such a beautiful laidback lifestyle.

The crazy thing is I am a raising my son as a worldschooler and have traveled a lot, but I didn’t know anything about these islands, somehow they were not on my radar!

Curios to know more for sure!
