Had a problem with my cell phone. it said it detected moisture or a foreign object. I put it in dry rice to aborb the moisture. Usually have to do it overnight. I only left it in the rice

1 1/2 hours. Took it out, put it on charge. It said it was fast charging. Ok now. Saved me $400 it would have cost me for a new phone.

I saw a man drop a cell phone out of his shirt pocket while leaning over a fish pond. Phone totally submerged.

He pulled it out. I told him to put it in dry rice overnight.

He did. Phone was fixed in the morning..

My stepson had his fall through an ice-fishing hole and miraculously was able to retrieve it with a magnet and “fished” it out of the lake.

It actually still works after drying it out!

How old is your phone? Mine starting doing that about moisture thing then fast charging.

A few months later I needed a new one.

I got a free iPhone 16 through Verizon.

I do this too and instead of tossing the rice, I now have a ziplock with rice in my pantry just for my cellphone.

The phones now don’t have to be put in rice as long as it’s a newer phone.

They detect water so you know and can let them dry before you charge them
