Does anyone pay the $20/mo fee to use ChaptGPT Plus? I’m using it more and more and wondering if anyone sees value in the paid version?
ChatGPT Plus is a subscription plan offered by OpenAI that grants users access to GPT-4, improved response times, and priority access during peak hours.
For $20 per month, subscribers can enjoy a more robust and reliable experience, especially useful for professionals, students, and creators who rely heavily on AI for research, writing, or brainstorming.
The enhanced capabilities of GPT-4 often provide more accurate, context-aware, and creative responses compared to the free-tier GPT-3.5.
While the cost might seem high to casual users, those who frequently use AI tools will likely find value in the upgrade. The subscription pays off in terms of productivity, access to advanced features, and the overall quality of output.
Ultimately, whether it’s worth it depends on how often you use ChatGPT and what you expect from it. For heavy users, the investment can significantly enhance workflow and efficiency.
Thanks.
SteveWhat practical examples can you give for personal uses? Not content creation or writing articles or comparing philosophers.
I want to expand my uses.
So far I only used it for travel itineraries and it does an okay job for a very basic itinerary.
I usually improve it afterwards. Curious how I can use it in everyday life
KristinThe free one only has data through 2021 whereas the paid version is through 2023. Only the paid version can do current internet browsing or read uploaded documents.
I started using it for work so I have the paid version.
The free version can’t even read a url you provide.
It has improved over several months too.
ShwetaI use it in my job search and general questions. Best $20 spent!
LaurieI do and it’s worth every penny!
KellyI do because I use the deep research mode and it is amazing.
JenniferI do! I canceled it last year when my sister told me she got a black friday deal for 50% off but I came crawling back last month for more image generation and higher quality responses.
Oh, and for attachments.
NabilaI do and it’s so worth it. I use it as my thought partner and call it my “chief of staff”
JenniferYes, I use it all the time and feel it’s well worth the $20
SeanNot paying for it yet, but considering doing so. I’ve been playing around with giving it a persona that has CFP, CFA, RICP, and CPA designations and interacting with that persona and asking questions.
Only a couple of days in but haven’t caught any obviously wrong output.
Next I’m going to start comparing things like portfolio SW rates and Monte Carlo simulations to some of the other tools to see where/if there are big discrepancies.
MelissaI do! Use it for so many things and if you have a business, that fee is a tax write off.
DesmondAbsolutely! We use it everyday in my office for story ideas and to help with the groundwork of content creation. (I get reimbursed the fee though)
DanYep. Honestly I’m not sure what you get in the free version these days, but ChatGPT has become an essential tool for me.
CourtneyBest $20 per month I have ever spent. It saves me hours of time every month.
I use it for nearly every work or home project.
RickI have not yet paid for any similar service. I am usually trying 2-3 free versions on similar questions usually daily.
I am so far finding Grok the “best” which is fairly subjective.
It is more accurate, less prone to mistake (or I have learned better how to write my prompts, hard to tell which), etc.
Now I am doing almost entirely Q&A or research. No table creation. No programming code. Nothing like that.
Maybe one day I will pay but so far I have not found the need.
PatrickI feel like the dinosaur around here. Never even used the free one.
JenAfter learning about the environmental impacts of using ai, I avoid it whenever I can
ChristopherI’m still enjoying the free level. Occasionally if I ask too many very deep analytical queries it says I have to wait til the next day.
It’s not for work so I don’t mind.
LaceyI do. Love it. It’s helping me with SEO on my business website – like having a personal assistant with mad skills
IlanaI pay for it, and I love it for my business! It has my business profile and draws from previous questions and information when I have questions or prompts.
That being said I have not been impressed with their image creation.
ChristineI pay and and it’s worth it! I use it more and more now. It’s helping me build out automations for my business now.
It’s been a game changer!
