With an official announcement of tariffs on vehicles, should I start looking at upgrading my vehicle before prices go up?

I have 120 thousand miles on my Jeep and have yet to have any major issues, knock on wood.

Or should I keep driving it until I have major issues?

I have cash saved up to upgrade my vehicle when the time comes.

      TIA

Your decision…but you usually can get a better deal at end of month.

The managers have quotas to meet/exceed so they often are more amenable to negotiating

I see this happening this way: You can tell a dealer, “I know your 2024 on the lot isn’t affected by tariffs, but your 2025s and 26s will be, so you better make me one hell of a deal on that 2024 because you’re going to have a hard time selling the other.”

Toyota over built to compensate for the Prius and grand Highlander issues of 2024 so I think supply and demand will dictate affordability.

Ppl losing jobs left and right and can’t afford living expenses so I don’t think everyone’s going out buying cars in this economy

I don’t do anything out of fear. I have 3 vehicles and the lowest mileage one is a 2018 with 168k

if you keep up on maintenance they will last a long time.

I’d wait until you have major issues. The tariffs will work themselves out in the coming weeks or months.

Car dealerships will already be pricing up their cars and talking about how they’ll go even higher to get you to buy now.

Enough people will take their advice and overpay.

                  Prices have already gone up.
1.) Uncertainty makes prices go up.
2.) Rumors make prices go up.

3.) Unofficial announcements make prices go up.
4.) Official announcements make prices go up.
5.) Tariffs make prices go up.

6.) Scarcity makes prices go up.
We are already on step 4 of 6.

No, vehicles are not hard to find in the Sates. In fact tons of people sell their brand new vehicles at huge discounts because they can’t afford them and spent too much on them trying to live outside their means
