I tool frozen chicken breast out of the freezer last night. Jumped up this morning and realized I never put them in the fridge.

They are now defrosted but I don’t know how long they’ve been defrosted and just sitting out.

      Would you still use them??

      TIA

Context is important, like temperature of your home and last night could be 9pm, could be midnight.

My mother thawed chicken on the counter overnight. I thaw it in the refrigerator. Can you still feel ice crystals?

How hot was it last night? When in doubt, throw it out.

Honestly, it is how they are usually thawed from being frozen solid. Put in fridge until ready to cook.

I would use in the next day or so. Been doing it for 40+ years.

What a waste! I defrost chicken overnight. I live in the Canaries- temp 20 to 27 degrees

Will be fine I put chicken out at night it’s still very cold next morning. I put it in the fridge until later I will cook.

if I leave in the fridge it will still be frozen next day.

You would soon know if it’s gone off.

I have thawed mine on the counter since I was younger and watched my mom and grandmother do the same. It never caused a problem.

As long as it doesn’t have a funky smell you should be fine.

Just cook it to the proper temperature.

Look up USDA meat temps.. 54* for over 4 hrs. Your fine to use them

Foods can safely sit in the “danger zone” for 4 hours, until cooking…. the danger zone is 41*-135*. Frozen solid chicken breast would have taken awhile to thaw to the temp of 41*.

                      I would cook them.

When I didn’t know any better that’s how I would defrost chicken, so I would cook it nothing ever happened when I used to cook it that way
