I cooked a whole stuffed chicken at 8pm last night. I wrapped it in cling film and left it on the counter to cool. I fell asleep forgetting to refrigerate it until 9am this morning.

Would it still be OK to eat?

No way… Number one you said you wrapped it up and you never want to wrap up anything hot it has to breathe somewhere.

Don’t ever wrap anything up and put it directly in the fridge either you wrap it up and leave a space open or if it’s in a ziplock bag leave the Ziploc open.

It’s fine. Our ancestors didn’t have refrigerators.

They would often cover the dinner and leave it on the table to be consumed for breakfast.

Depends on how much weight you’d like to lose and how much time you’d like to spend in the bathroom for the next few days.

I’d break it up and turn it into soup. Boil the heck out of it.

We do this all the time and have never had an issue, but you should do whatever makes you feel safe.

No absolutely not. The stuffing should always be immediately removed after cooking.

You’ve created the perfect environment for bacteria to grow by leaving the stuffing inside and letting the whole thing sit.

                Please be safe vs. sorry.

                  NO NO NO NO !!!
Two hours at room temperature at the most only!
Do not risk food poisoning with poultry Especially with stuffing
For the future do not wrap it in clingfilm to cool.

Remove the stuffing place it in a separate container let sit 30 minutes to cool and refrigerate

Leave the chicken on the counter for about 30 minutes, it has to breathe and the steam has to escape

                  then refrigerate.

I set a kitchen timer as a reminder when I am letting items cool off.

I have learned the hard way because I have had to previously throw out food because it sat out too long

Chop it up and stick it in a skillet to brown nicely. Can’t imagine throwing good food away.

NO!!!! Throw it out. Never wrap in cling film. Better to put it on a plate and just put it in the refrigerator if you think you will fall asleep.

I did the almost same thing recently. It wasn’t stuffed and was loosely covered in the microwave. I threw it out.

It sucked, but I wasn’t chancing it.

All food needs to cool down before wrapping or covered. Cooling period can’t exceed the 90 min

By wrapping and or covering while still warm it’s like farming bacteria at even a higher speed.

Throw it away, that chicken is no longer by it self, neither dead

My daughter was in the hospital for a week with food poisoning. You don’t want it. Vomiting every 1/2 hour for a week. 3 bouts of it.

                                Lost a lot of weight.

                                Caught gastroperises from it.

I’d take out and throw away the stuffing and then boil the chicken. That should kill any bacteria.

If you really want to be safe, portion out the boiled chicken and then freeze it.

If it survives boiling and freezing, it’s going to take over the world anyway.
