Is there a platform where you can start investing in a Roth IRA without a 3K minimum like Vanguard requires?

      Fidelity has no minimums.

Only certain funds have the $3k minimum. ETF’s, like VOO & VTI, don’t. If you do decide to choose fidelity as your brokerage, choose the fidelity equivalents of these funds.

Yes, just use Fidelity. Start with a dollar if you want. Buy fractional shares of Vanguard ETFs like VTI and VOO there.

You get Vanguard funds without Vanguard’s byzantine rules and annoyances.

You can start with less at vanguard (you can buy a fraction of a share of VTI for example).

But Fidelity makes it easier overall, I’d start there and just ignore the VTSAX fixation (any low cost broad index fund will do, ETFs are fine too, etc).

Vanguard doesn’t have a 3k minimum for a Roth. A particular fund you are looking at might have a minimum, but most of their great funds have ETF versions that you can buy for as little as a buck.

Almost all of the key vanguard mutual funds with the $3k minimum investment are also offered in ETF form. For example, many people cannot afford the $3k entry fee for VTSAX so they buy VANGUARD’S ETF version which trades under the symbol VTI.

When you buy VTI, you get the same team at vanguard, the same EXACT performance and a slightly lower expense ratio.

VTI currently sells for $253. And if your account is at one of the major brokerages like Fidelity that offer fractional shares…so you could buy $1 or VTI.
