Hello friends, I am coming to you for help in finding a podcast that I can listen to to help me wrap my head around becoming a landlord.
My dad is in good health, but he is about to put his Home in a trust for me and my brother. My brother is very excited to turn this two family home into a rental property.
He lives in the same town as the property. I live several states away and have no interest in a rental property.
Honestly, I’m very concerned about the liability of having this property. It is in a high cost of living city with low income population. In the past when my dad rented it the occupants were section 8.
It is currently no longer a rental (too stressful for him) and just became my dad‘s primary residence last year. It is fully paid off. It could be sold for $900,000.
My husband likes the idea of having the rental income so I would like to hear more about out rental property ownership up.
I’m only focused on the negative right now. I appreciate any information you could provide.
LouiseAgree that Bigger Pockets is a good one. I will also add that our good friends have rental properties that are for fixed income tenants.
Best tenants they’ve ever had.
Krista12 doors landlord here. It’s worth it if you can tolerate stress, get things done and enjoy cash flow.
Try Lady Landlord group and podcast.
JenniferTell your brother he is welcome to buy you out if he wants the house to be a rental.
