Anybody selling individual stocks at the moment to diversify to safer option ETFs given the uncertainty of the next few years?
With economic and geopolitical uncertainty looming, I’m curious to hear if others are adjusting their portfolios by moving away from individual stocks and reallocating into more diversified or lower-risk ETFs. Personally, I’m considering this move to reduce exposure to volatility and better protect my investments over the next few years.
Are you taking similar steps? If so, what kind of ETFs are you looking at—broad market, sector-specific, dividend-focused, or something else?
Or do you believe holding onto quality individual stocks is still the better long-term strategy?
Would love to hear others’ thoughts, strategies, or even any regrets or lessons learned from making similar shifts in the past.
JohnNever sell into weakness. You should be buying.
HunterI own an investment firm and moved quite a bit of money out of individual stocks and into ETF’s in order to increase diversification prior to the election.
However, this move was part of a systemic process that is done regardless of emotions.
If you’re trying to time the market with this move, you should just leave your $ where it’s at.
GeorgeGood time to reevaluate your investment strategy and use loss harvesting to switch positions that matches your long term asset allocation
AlbertYes, retiring soon so already sold 90% of my stocks. Moved all into SGOV, U.S.
treasury bonds, CD ladder, I-bonds, and HYSA. Sleeping soundly is priceless!
AaronDo you considering selling stocks to buy stocks diversifying?
