I have a lot of raisins I have received from the food pantry, and when I say a lot of raisins , I mean A LOT.

I don’t know what to do with them. I know I can put them in cookies such as oatmeal cookies, I can put them in quick breads, such as an applesauce bread recipe I have, and I can also add them to homemade granola.

What else can I do with them? I don’t really care to just eat them plain.

I add them to oatmeal while it cooks. So yummy! Also, I mix them with nuts for a yummy snack.

I find if I put a bowl of snacks out in the counter it disappears quickly so I put things out that I want us to use up.

My mom always put them in her cabbage rolls with the rice and hamburger.

There’s a banana bread recipe I saw that uses them. Put them on celery and peanut butter (ants on a log). Trail mixes.

You could chop up a few and add them to your salads especially carrot+cabbage salad.

Chop them up and make them into jam, I think it would turn out absolutely delicious!!

Could even add some other fresh fruits to it like apples, oranges, banana or kiwi fruit for a different flavour.

You could also try and make a syrup or cordial from them

Make rice pudding and add lots of cinnamon and raisins along with some sugar.

I make the rice first, then add in lots of raisins. Also, quite a bit of cinnamon in the same amount of sugar.

Mix everything together and bake. I love having this for breakfast in the morning.

I just heated up and add some milk and maybe a little bit more cinnamon sugar. It’s delicious.

Raisin pie is a delicious old fashioned treat. They are good in carrot or other salads for a sweet note.

                    Same with stews.

I found a recipe for Romanoff sauce where you macerate raisins with brandy. When they are hydrated, purée in food processor with sour cream and brown sugar.

                      Delicious dip for fresh strawberries.

Meatballs. My mom did this. Love it. I also make a blueberry raisen sauce for pancakes etc.

I stuff my bra with them. Put some in my ears and belly button, too. Good snack for later.

My mom used to make a basic fruit salad with cut up bananas, apples, walnuts, raisins, and a least little bit of light mayo to mix up in it.

Oh, and she cut grapes in half when we had them, too.

My mom used to make carrot salad with raisins in it. I think it had crushed pineapple and mayonnaise.

I put them in a glass jar and fill up with alcohol like rum or whatever I have. They soak and keep for months in the fridge.

They plump up and are juicy. I then use them for baking.

I really like them in hot breakfast cereal like cream of wheat or oatmeal.

They also go good in bread pudding, or on top of bananas or apple slices with peanut butter
