Wracking my brain. I need to make both a pot luck dish and cookies for an exchange at work .
The pot luck dish will be out for a few hours so I am thinking cold sesame noodles (I have most of the ingredients!!).
Putting it in a bowl that sits in a larger bowl filled with ice makes me feel better.
I have to make about 80 cookies. I need easy and inexpensive! We are allowed to bring store bought… thought of raiding the dollar store but feel guilty! Suggestions?
Thanks!
KimWhat about a charcuterie board instead? It can sit out longer
LeanneNo bake chocolate cookies made with oatmeal. It’s easy, cheap and always a hit.
JuanitaDollar Store has great stuff! No quilt! Pillsbury slice and bake, very easy.
JenniferI am not 100% if it would count, but rolos between 2 butter snaps (square cross hatched pretzels) and a little sanding sugar or sprinkles looks super cute and very easy
DenniseThe Keebler fudge stripe cookies are about $10 for about 80 cookies I think
LorettaI say do a bucket of mini cookies from costco or Walmart. I love tiny cookies as it’s good portion control and technically it’s more than 80
ToniClassic Toll House recipe.
Add 1.5t cinnamon, add additional 1/4 salt, sub dark chocolate chips. Salted dark chocolate cinnamon cookies!Or shortbread. It is, like…4 ingredients and you can add white chocolate and cranberries, chocolate and orange zest, toasted coconut, etc.
Or white chocolate bark with cranberries, pretzels and pistachios.
TesseNo bake Hershey chocolate cookies! With or without peanut butter
KathyAldis has some great German cookies
At a decent price
Put them on a nice plateGingerbread
Oreos
All kindsBeckyEasy cookies but 80 of them could get expensive this way. If I wasn’t told about cookies for school timely I bought grocery store bakery sugar cookies, tub of frosting and sprinkles.
IkeDo you have a GFS near you? They have the best cookies. Let me know if you do & I’ll explain in detail as to which ones to buy.
They are so good & you don’t even have to bake them.
LoriI guess I grew up going to too many summer BBQ’s to worry about spoilage. Costco or Sam’s for that many cookies. If you’re going to put something on ice – might as well do a shrimp mold.
There are tons of recipes that are all pretty similar on the internet. It’s always impressive.
Serve it with crackers
CourtneyStore bought sugar cookie dough, add some flour, roll and cut them out, then frost and decorate with some ingredients from the dollar store.
Cheap, easy, and festive!
