Where can I buy affordable, long-lasting office workwear? Women’s small size.
I’m looking for stylish, professional options that are budget-friendly and long-lasting.
Any recommendations for specific stores, brands, or online platforms would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
MaryI would buy 2 pair of black slacks that are well made. And 5 shirts. Since you will not be purchasing a lot of clothing, you can pay a bit more for them.
2 sweaters in different colors to mix and match with the shirts will give you more outfits.
In a few months buy another pair of slacks in a different style, but still black. Then later on another sweater in a different color.
After wearing the slacks each day hang them up and let them air out. Same with the shirts.
Unless they are dirty don’t wash them. And buy ones that don’t wrinkle easily.
By not washing them every time you wear them you are prolonging their life and how they look.
KeriPlato’s closet, second hand stores, resale stores, clearance section of department stores.
Macy’s is going out of business. Places like that.
ElisabethGoodwill stores in affluent areas often have designer clothes. As women gain or lose weight, they replace their old wardrobe.
I had the best luck in affluent area thrift stores.
JenniferI recently lost weight & have been shopping at the thrift store & honestly, I prefer it.
I find name brand clothing (Anne Taylor, Lands End, etc). I don’t live in a wealthy area either.
I also wear petite pants & have no trouble finding petite pants!
DeAnnaOld Navy has great online sales and their quality is pretty good. JJills has excellent quality clothes and you can find some good end of season sales.
Their clothes last! Good place to get some basics and mix and match clothes.
MarshaLook at thrift stores first, then shop good brands end of season sales. Just keep checking to see what’s on sale.
LorettaI buy all my dress work clothes at thift stores. I work at a bank. I always get compliments on what I am wearing.
I like to rotate them out periodically.
Last week I bought 9 tops and 3 pants for $50.
DenniseThrift store I always try first, then TJ Max, then Kohls. I only find petites regularly at kohls or Penny’s.
The rest I have to shorten
CharlieTry second hand stores, Thread up is an online 2nd hand store that I’ve had great luck with (opposite problem I’m a tall girl).
Check your local department stores for sales.
JeaneenTry Thred Up and look for Sale items at Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor Loft and Banana Republic.
LucindaYou tend to get the best deals at locally run thrift stores (instead of national ones like Goodwill). We have a few by us that are very nice/well run and look like a lovely shop.
They often have half price or “fill a bag” specials.
It is end of winter, so you may be able to find good deals on black or navy slacks, then pair with a lighter color blouse/cardigan.
Ellenlook at a capsule wardrobe on Pinterest, then buy some cheap starter items at Shein. It’s cheap and has a ton of variety.
But you can also just buy locally at Walmart or Target, just simple black slacks and a couple tops is more than sufficient.
