For those of you who do your taxes yourselves, what website are you going through? I usually use Turbotax but am wanting to try another.

I’m looking to get a sense of which online platforms people are using to file their own taxes. With so many options out there—from free government tools to paid software and online services—it can be hard to know which one is actually worth using.

Whether you use it because it’s easy, affordable, accurate, or simply out of habit, I’d love to know what works for you.

Do you use a well-known service like TurboTax, H&R Block, or TaxAct? Or do you prefer a lesser-known platform, maybe even your country’s official tax site?

Also, feel free to mention if you file manually or use an accountant instead.

Your input could help others make more informed decisions this tax season, so feel free to share your experiences—both good and bad.

      Thanks in advance!

Many people use TT, Free Tax USA, and the online version of H&R Block. Depending on the complexity of your situation, some are better than others.

If you are just now thinking about taxes on April 14, I am guessing yours are not too complex and FTUSA might work.

I use H&R block but ours is super complex.

FreeTaxUSA is tons better than TurboTax and includes all types of forms for free for federal.

          State is $14.99.

I switched from TurboTax to FreeTaxUSA last year and wish I had done it years ago!

I use FreeTaxUSA. Also, some states will allow you to directly e-file simple returns on their .gov website.

If you live in one of those states, you can file the federal return through FreeTaxUSA for free and then e-file the state return for free directly with the state.

Tax accountant here – TT and HR block have countless issues – and so many problems I’ve had to correct for folks!

for simple taxes I recommend FreeTaxUSA! Sometimes I wish I could use them over my tax software for clients because it’s easy peasy!

I have used taxact for 17 years, they wanted $99.90 for having schedule C now, so I switch to Free Tax USA this year.
