Would insulating the ceiling first be a good idea?

      Wire it first… if you really want a low cost alternative…price out the option of 2″ Styrofoam cut to fit between the rafters…you can do it yourself and not get itchy!!!…once you have it in place..a few cans of low expansion GreatStuff can seal it or fill any small gaps..can wire after that.

        I would line it with reflective insulation, it looks like aluminum foil but much tougher, it will reflect the infrared spectrum basically the heat back up. I have this in my envelope house and it makes a huge difference on how cool it stays.

        Don’t miss: Roughly how much would it cost for basic floor to ceiling built in wardrobes/storage for a kids room?

          While you are wiring put in ceiling fan . It creates a breeze and helps eliminate flying insect like flys bees ect . You just see them fly in and woosh they are flung out by the wind . Great if you want to put a Buffet or something.
