RobinMy son has his Roth IRA and cash plus account with Vanguard.
GoskaVGT. technology will dominate the future. 20% last 10 years
ErnestFidelity; QQQM or QQQ. Folks who’ll recommend VOO/VTI aren’t in their mid teens.
CodyAll of my accounts are at Fidelity invested in Vanguard ETFs. It’s so easy to set up all those accounts there.
SonjaIt sounds like you are asking for advice on two separate scenarios. One for teens and another for mid-40s.
The teens can invest in tech, cryptocurrency, and other innovations because they can handle more risk.
The person in their mid-forties should be more diverse and preserve their wealth while growing it.
RickHands down get your kids into at least two different asset classes.
AVUS and AVUV is a good starter pack.I would personally add VNQ but some may choose AVEM instead.
The goal is to get the money growing. The undercurrent is to teach them different asset classes perform differently over time.
This is something vtsax and chill fails to teach people.
And I feel it is an invaluable lesson for young new investors.
