Hello all! I seem to remember hearing that you could store romaine lettuce ( standing up)with the bottom intact, in a glass container with a small amount of water to keep it crisp and linger lasting.

The quality of the Romain offered only lasting about 2 days and wilts as soon as you tear it.

      Any tips?

I read if you leave the bottom of lettuce in water In lighted area, the roots will grow and you will have a new lettuce emerging

Making sure my romaine is fresh, I wrap mine tightly in aluminum foil. Lasts for about two weeks.

I do my celery the same way, and it will last about a month or longer.

I cut off the bottom and wash each leaf, shake the water off them and put the leaves in a gallon ziploc bag with a few paper towels in the bottom of the bag.

            The leaves stay crisp.

I cut mine, wash it, drain it, and place in a sealed container with whatever water is left on the leaves.

              It lasts sooo much longer.

I wash it, dry well, tear into pieces in a large glass jar and store upside down with a folded paper towel on top (or on bottom once you turn it upside down).

I don’t wash mine til ready to use but wrap it in a damp t towel in the crisper.

I also just started planting the nub after putting it in a cup with a tiny bit of water

I wrap the whole thing in aluminum foil. It’s lasted two weeks that way!
