I normal buy skim or 1% and I never really paid attention to the price. Whole milk is the same price, can I buy whole milk and water it down? If so how much?
ShereeUsually where I am, whole milk is most expensive and skim is the cheapest.
I know you can freeze it, but we don’t. I’ve just been getting us half gallons because we haven’t been drinking as much and end up wasting.
TeresaYes, you can, I have whenever any milk is on sale up to 18%. Then it’s trial and error.
Deb1% milk contains 1% butter fat
2% contains 2% butter fat
Whole milk contains 4% butter fat
Since I seldom use milk I get shelf stable milk at the Dollar Tree
Also the less fat in milk can effect the outcome of baked goods.
If you water it down you will not only effect the amount of fat but also the nutrients.
